Rooms without an account

You can start or join a room without signing in. Audio, video, screens, and files travel browser to browser over encrypted WebRTC. The Qosaic server introduces the browsers and relays chat text, reactions, and hand state. Rooms live in memory on one process and disappear when the last person leaves.

What Qosaic never stores

Media never touches the server disk. Qosaic does not record calls, and it does not keep chat, captions, reactions, or files after a room empties. A persistent Plus link only reserves a code and a name. It does not keep the meeting itself.

Accounts

If you sign in with an email magic link, Qosaic stores:

• Your email address
• An optional username and display name
• Whether Plus is active, and the Stripe customer and subscription ids needed to bill it
• Any reserved room code and custom room name you keep

Sign-in mail is sent by Supabase Auth. If custom SMTP is configured, that provider sees the destination address so it can deliver the link. Qosaic does not get a password. The magic link is the sign-in.

Billing

Plus is billed by Stripe. Card numbers go to Stripe, not to Qosaic. Stripe keeps the records it needs to charge a subscription, send receipts, and run the customer portal. Qosaic stores only the ids that say which Stripe customer and subscription belong to your account.

Optional tips

You can leave an optional tip from the home page. Payment is handled by Stripe. Optional tips help pay for the server and the TURN relay. They are not tax-deductible. Qosaic never sees a card number.

Cookies and local data

A signed-in browser keeps an auth session so you do not have to request a new magic link on every visit. Display names for a room stay in this browser's session storage, as they do today. Qosaic does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Deletion

You can delete your account from the account page. Type your username (or email, if you have not picked a username) to confirm. Deletion is immediate: the auth user, the profile, and reserved rooms are removed, and any active Stripe subscription is cancelled. After that, you can still start and join rooms without an account.
