Legal
Terms
These terms cover the free Qosaic rooms and the optional Plus subscription. They are a draft for Sean to review. They are not legal advice.
The service
Qosaic is a browser meeting for two to six people. Anyone can start or join a room without an account. The server introduces peers and relays chat, reactions, and hand state. It does not record the call. Rooms live in memory and end when empty, or when the process restarts.
Free
Starting a room, joining a room, captions, room lock, and the current meeting features stay free. An account is never required to join. Sign-in only adds Plus features. It must not block or slow a join.
Plus
Plus is $5 a month or $48 a year, billed by Stripe Checkout in subscription mode. Plus adds a persistent room link (a stable code the owner keeps) and a custom room name. The live room still sits in memory on one instance. Media never touches the server. The persistent link only reserves the code and name.
Optional tips
Tips are optional. They are not tax-deductible and they are not a subscription. Optional tips help pay for the server and the TURN relay. Plus is billed separately.
Billing, refunds, and cancellation
Payment is handled by Stripe. Qosaic never sees a card number. You can cancel from the Stripe customer portal linked on your account page. Cancellation stops the next renewal. If a charge was made in error, ask through the home page feedback form and we will review a refund. Refunds, if granted, are sent the same way Stripe collected the payment.
Accounts and deletion
An account is created when you request an email magic link and complete it. You can delete the account at any time. Deletion takes a typed confirmation, then happens immediately: the auth user, the profile, and reserved rooms are removed, and any active Stripe subscription is cancelled.
Acceptable use
Do not use Qosaic to attack the service, to break the law, or to share a persistent link in a way that invites abuse. A leaked persistent link can be used by anyone who has it, the same as today's meeting IDs. Share it only with people you want in the room.
Privacy
The privacy page lists the account data Qosaic stores and the meeting data it does not store.
